Karen Lowellynne McConnell was born November 29th, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Gretchen Ida (Short) and John Lowell Kabisch. She passed away Tuesday, November 21st, 2023 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 23 days.

Karen, as a young child, moved with her family to Whittier, California where she attended Cal High School graduating in 1958. After graduation she remained in Whittier, California and was eventually married to Francis Earl McConnell in 1968. Together they moved to Pasadena, California where they began their family with the birth of their son, Timothy. Karen continued to work in the insurance industry which she started her career in 1960. Throughout the years Karen's profession took her from California to Oklahoma City, Dallas, Phoenix, and finally to Denver, Colorado where she retired in 2002. After her retirement she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be closer to some of her family and obtained employment with St. John's Hospital before her retirement for a second time. Karen enjoyed mission trips with her church to Peru, Israel, Ireland, and countless other countries assisting in the building of church. She also enjoyed quilting, knitting, and reading along with spending time with her family and friends. Many would say that Karen was charitable to a fault and had one of the most kind a giving heart anyone could imagine.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; one brother, John Edward Kabisch; one brother-in-law, Robert Kumpe; and one nephew, Anthony Schones.

Karen is survived by her son, Tim McConnell and wife, Janet, Pasadena, CA; 2 sisters, Virginia Kumpe, Edmond, OK and Joan Schones and husband, Andrew, Yukon, OK; niece, Jennifer Lazuta, Edmond, OK; 3 great nephews, Christopher and Matthew Lazuta, and Garrett Schones and a host of other relatives and friends.
