Kamleshkumar Shyamlal Joshi was born and raised in Baroda, India, the beloved son of Shyamlal Govardhan Das Joshi and Kapilaben Joshi. Growing up alongside three brothers and two sisters, he enjoyed a childhood filled with family togetherness. Helping his father and sharing everyday moments with his siblings shaped his life long love for family. After completing high school, Kamleshkumar earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He went on to work as a pharmaceutical salesperson, traveling throughout India. His career allowed him to explore the country, connect with people, and enjoy his love of travel. With the blessings of their families, he married Bhadraben Kamleshkumar Joshi. Together, they raised their daughter, Nirali, and son, Ankur. He was a devoted husband and father who placed his family’s well-being and his children’s education at the center of his life. 

In 2002, Kamleshkumar moved to the United States to pursue new opportunities and build a better future for his family. He encouraged his children to further their education, become independent, and follow their own paths. He loved nature and found peace in gardening, growing plants and vegetables, and caring for the things around him. Watching his garden grow brought him joy, as did watching his children and grandchildren grow. He embraced changing times with an open mind, believing that traditions should leave room for understanding, growth, and the needs of each generation. He valued staying connected with his children, welcoming new ideas, and making changes that helped his family move forward. His kindness was especially evident when others faced difficult times. He believed that while one might miss someone’s celebrations, being there during their hardships was what truly mattered. He often reminded his family: “If you cannot be there in someone’s good times, that is okay - but always be there in their bad times.” He believed that the kindness we give returns through karma, helping sustain us through our own challenges. For him, helping others meant offering his presence, understanding, and support when they needed it most. 

In 2016, his life changed profoundly when he suffered a heart attack. He was diagnosed with severe blockages in his arteries and told that his heart function was approximately 15 percent. His prognosis was uncertain, but his determination remained strong. With a fiercely independent spirit, he expressed his wish to avoid surgery and sought ways to support his well-being through lifestyle changes and natural approaches. These choices reflected his deeply held beliefs and his desire to have a voice in his care. Despite the uncertainty he faced, he continued sharing precious years with his family, meeting each day with resolve and a love for life. He found happiness in family time and embraced life with a playful spirit. Always young at heart, he could become a child among children, especially when playing with his beloved grandchildren. Their laughter and companionship brought him immense joy. His favorite saying, “Chalse, favse, bhavse,” captured his easy going approach to life: it will be okay, we will adjust, and we will learn to enjoy it. He encouraged his family to go with the flow, welcome change, and make the best of every situation. Through these simple words, he reminded them to worry less and enjoy life more. His enduring lessons were to be independent, enjoy every moment, never lose the child within, and stand beside others through hardship. He reminded those around him to appreciate life’s simple pleasures, remain open to change, and cherish the people they loved. 

Kamleshkumar will be remembered for his kindness, determination, devotion to family, and joyful spirit. His love and the lessons he shared will live on in his children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.
