Obituary

James Wesley Little was born April 11th, 1944 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Lucille Francis (Smith) and John Wesley Little. He passed away Monday, August 1st, 2022 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age o f 78 years, 3 months and 21 days. James, known to most everyone as "JW", grew up and attended elementary school in Strong City until the 8th grade where he began at Cheyenne and later was a part of the Cheyenne High School graduating class of 1962. After graduation JW went on wheat harvest into Canada and then attended Oklahoma State University for a year. After college, JW returned to western Oklahoma where he began his trucking career working for various trucking companies. In the late 70's he started his own oil field company running heavy equipment. In the early 80's he began working for Farmers Supply where he remained for 30 plus years. All throughout JW's working career he could often be seen farming and custom cutting and baling for himself and others in the communities in Roger Mills County. JW was one that enjoyed working, but also enjoyed watching OKC Thunder Basketball and taking care of his dogs, Row and Sue. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Bob and Murl Little, and sister-in-law, Marie Little . JW is survived by his 2 children, Doug Little and wife, Kandra, Calumet, OK, and Michelle Knight and husband, Darren, Elk City, OK; 6 grandchildren, Nicki McRee and husband, Dustin, Jay Little and wife, Morgan, Jacob Little, Jared Little, Amber Delp and husband, Ethan, and Morgan Knight; 5 great grandchildren, Bryant, Jenifer, Jaylie, Easton, and Emmitt; 1 brother, Lloyd Lee Little and a host of other relatives. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Bell Avenue Nursing Center and the Nurses of Comforting Hands Hospice that cared for JW during his final days. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5th, 2022 at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church at 10:00 AM officiated by Larry Parvin. Burial will follow at Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com.
