June Conrad of Reydon, Oklahoma passed away January 8, 2024 in Springfield, Ohio near her family. She was the youngest child of Orville and Hope McColgin Conrad, born June 20, 1927 of the family farm in Rankin, now Reydon. She was the granddaughter of early settlers Grant and Bessie Simison McColgin and John and Ida Conrad.

June was a graduate of Reydon High School, Oklahoma A and M (BS), and Central Michigan University (MA). She was employed at Elk City Community Hospital before serving the Department of Defense as a medical technologist at Clinton Sherman AFB. She retired from Ft. Sill, Lawton as the lab supervisor. June also served 2 years at Cookson Hills (UMC) as a medical missions caseworker.

June was active in and led several local and state organizations, including Order of the Eastern Star (75 yrs), Lawton Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Altrusa, United Methodist Women, Wesleyan Service Guild, and Arimathaea Club (B&PW). She was also a life member of the OSU Alumni Assn., American Medical Technologists, Western Oklahoma and Oklahoma Historical Societies.

Her greatest service after retiring was being a devoted caregiver for her mother until she passed away in 1993. June loved music and the arts, genealogy, traveling visiting family and volunteering at the UMC Thrift Shop. She was also a loyal supporter of Reydon students and attended their many activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bryce Conrad, sister Imogene Harris, and nephew Tommy Harris. Survivors include niece Barbara (Michael) Faust, Phil (Jeanne) Harris, and Dan Harris, all of Ohio, and Suzanne Zonca of Oregon. She also leaves several great nieces, great nephews, cousins and special friends who were like family!

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 9:30-10:45 Wednesday, January 24, at Elk City United Methodist Church followed by a celebration of life service at 11 a.m. with Pastor Scott Rodgers officiating. Interment will follow at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon.
