Joyce (Woods) McDonald was born December 18, 1930 to David H. and Myrtle Mae (Hayes) Woods in Sterling, OK. She passed on May 31, 2025 at the age of 94 years, 5 months, and 13 days. Joyce was the youngest of 12 children. She attended Sterling Highschool and graduated with the class of 1949 as the Valedictorian and Class President.

After high school, Joyce moved to Woodward, OK and worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator. It was there she met her husband, Kenneth. They were married December 30, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 2000. To this union two children were born Diane and Charles.

Joyce enjoyed working in her yard and fishing while able. When she became unable to pursue outdoor activities she enjoyed reading and working puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her parents David and Myrtle Woods, six brothers and six sisters, husband Kenneth McDonald, and son Charles McDonald.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Diane McDonald of Elk City and Miss Kitty of the home. She is also survived by her niece Andra Stover of Chanute, KS; nephews Larry Donley of Sterling, KS, Terry Donley of Shattuck, OK, David and Laretta Woods and Ronnie Woods and Sarah Wade all of Sterling, OK; as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, extended, family and a host of friends.
