Jonny B.C. Brooks was born August 4, 1959 in Pampa, Texas to Beverly Jean (Cruzan) Teel. He passed away at his home in Elk City, Oklahoma on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 12 days.

Jonny grew up in Pampa, Texas, where he attended school until he went to work in the oilfield. He worked during the cold winters so that he could save up enough money to allow him to race during the summers. He loved to drive in the quarter-mile races. Jonny took on the role of caring for his elderly grandparents until their passing. He did this task with as much grace as anyone could have asked for. Jonny greatly honored his grandparents and they completely doted over him.

Jonny moved to Elk City in 2016 where he went to work at Brooks Marine alongside his brother Lance and nephew, Danny. He was in charge of the service department until his failing health forced his retirement. Throughout his life, Jonny always enjoyed racing cars and being a mechanic for himself, as well as for others.

Jonny is preceded in death by his mother Beverly Teal, grandparents, Dorsey and Crystal Cruzan; two uncles, Davie Lee Cruzan and Dorsey Jr.(Jiggy) Cruzan; one aunt, Sarah Simmons; and two nephews, Zachariah Monty and Larry Thomas.

Jonny is survived by his beloved GTO's, one sister, Melinda Johnson, and husband, Jerry of Decatur, Texas; three brothers, Lance Brooks, and wife, Nancy of Foss Lake, Oklahoma; Max (Ty) Monty, and wife LeeAnn, of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Donny Teel, and wife Cindy of Sperry, Oklahoma; nephew, Danny Cupp and wife, Lela of Elk City, Oklahoma; cousin Christie Clifford and husband, William of Crescent, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
