Obituary

Joe Ertis Schneberger was born August 9th, 1936 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Coletta Rose "Lydia" (Hoffman) and Adolph Edward Schneberger. He passed away on his wife's birthday, November 13th, 2022 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years, 3 months and 4 days.

Joe grew up west of Burns Flat on his family's farm and attended Burns Flat Schools graduating in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Air National Guard. It was during his time in the Guard he was married to Janice G. (Brown) in Wheeler, Texas on May 24th, 1958. After their marriage they made their home south of Canute where they raised their family and he continued farming the land. Joe being one that couldn't sit still, continued to farm even after his retirement and his wife passed away in January 24th, 2012. He also was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Elk's Lodge and Moose Lodge member. Joe enjoyed spending his time fishing with his buddy, Norbert, hunting, watching college football, and spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 brothers, Leroy and James Edward Schneberger.

Joe is survived by his 1 daughter, Sonya Dixon and husband, Alan, Canute, OK; 2 sons, Kary Schneberger and wife, Gail, Canute, OK and Daren Schneberger, Canute, OK; 5 grandchildren, Chasity Isaacson and husband, Joe, Clark Schneberger, Jared Schneberger, Caleb Schneberger and wife, Katie, and Chase Dixon; 10 great grandchildren, Jacob, Joey, and Jett Isaacson, Waylon Dixon, Abagail Schneberger, Decklan Smith, Willow Schneberger, Wyatt Schneberger, Olivia Schneberger, and Evie Schneberger; 1 brother, Patrick Schneberger and wife, Mary, Burns Flat, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
