Alma Jo "Jody Swaner was born on November 14, 1936 to Hezekiah K. and Della Mae (Davis) Luman in Erick, OK. She passed on January 9, 2025 in Sayre, OK at the age of 88 years 1 month, and 26 days.

Jody grew up in the breaks south of Erick. She attended public school in Erick. On July 29, 1957, Jody married Wesley Swaner in Sayre, OK and to this union three children were born, Lana Jodette, Sherry LeAnn, and Robert Earl. They made their home in Sayre, OK; Phillipsburg, KS Liberal, KS; Hope, KS; Bonner Springs, KS and then in Mclean, TX. They moved back to Sayre in the early 90s when Wesley retired.

Jody was a homemaker and sold Avon. She actively supported her kids while they were growing up. She loved listening to country music and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed arts and crafts such as painting and needlework.

She is preceded in death by her husband Wesley Swaner, parents Hezekiah and Della Luman, brothers William Luman, HK (Corky) Luman Jr., and David Luman, sisters Irene Laxton, and Donna Holland two son-in-laws Robert Harman and Elden Mason.

Jody is survived by her children Lana Avara and husband Darin of Lawrence, KS, Sherry Mason of Sayre, OK, and Robert Swaner and wife Julie of Sayre, OK; grandchildren Nicole Ahrens and husband Isacc of Sayre, OK, Chad Mason and wife Lauren of Wetumka, OK, Jami Johnson and husband Kevin of Raytown, Missouri, Wesley Swaner and wife Espy of Canute, OK; great grandchildren Jase, Braedin, Riley, Tuff, Nanni, Jayda, Maverick; brother-in-law Harvey Parker; sister-in-laws Lea Luman, Glenna Swaner, and Kay Mcmanus; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
