Jerry Ray Cope was born October 18th, 1956 in Spearman, TX to Imagene (Nicewarner) and William Dwain Cope. He passed away Monday, August 17th, 2026 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 30 days.

Jerry grew up in Taloga, Oklahoma where he attended school. He graduated from high school in 1974 and furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He obtained employment with British Petroleum (BP) where he was employed as a construction foreman before the end of his 40 year career. When Jerry wasn't working he enjoyed caring for his cattle, chickens, gardening, woodworking and anything that involved working with his hands. Most of all he enjoyed teaching these skills to his family and going to the casino.

He is preceded in death his parents William and Imagene Cope, maternal grandparents James and Gertrude Nicewarner, paternal grandparents William Cope and Opal Williams, niece Brandy Cope, nephew Austin Landreth.

Jerry is survived by brother Jim Cope(Pat) Vian, OK, sisters Susan Bennett(Joel) Taloga, OK, Sandra Albright(Corey) Maysville, OK, Sonya Wylie(David) Lee's Summit, MO. Nephews and Nieces Brent, Brandon, Dustin, Zachary, Tisha, Elizabeth, Madison, Erin, Cassandra, Caitlyn. 19 great nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
