Jeffery Boyd Donaghey was born March 28th, 1962 in Ada, Oklahoma to Wynona Rae (White) and Jerry Bart Donaghey. He passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Thursday, July 9th, 2026 at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 11 days.
Jeffery, known to most as "Jeff", grew up in Ada, Oklahoma where he attended school. He graduated in 1980. After graduation, he attended East Central University on a football scholarship. He received his Bachelors in 1984 and began his career with Lorillard Tobacco Co. and continued and was still currently employed. His career spanned more than 40 years of covering the western portion of Oklahoma. It was in 1986 that Jeff moved to Elk City where he made his home. It was early in his career that he called on United Supermarkets in Elk City, Oklahoma and met a woman by the name of Glenda Lou (Chester). Their relationship grew over the next 5 years, and they were married on September 4, 1992 in Wheeler, Texas. It was at that point in time that Jeff became a father and grandfather never treating Glenda's children any different than what he would his own. Throughout his life, Jeff enjoyed golfing, fishing, and hunting but most of all spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He also never missed a sporting event of his grandchildren. Jeff was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church and also a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Henry and Ruth Chester; grandparents; brother-in-law, Glen Gean; and 2 nieces, Jennifer Massey and Mallory Henson.
Jeff is survived his wife, Glenda, of the home; 2 children, Lacy Hargis, Elk City, OK and Billy Bashaw and wife, Hayley, Elk City, OK; 5 grandchildren, Darian Kamphaus and husband, Keith, Brooklyne Keith and husband, Kaleb, Ayden Hargis, Gavin Bashaw, and Jorja Bashaw; 5 great granddaughters, Blakelee, Brynlee, Kinslee, Kollins, and Kellin; 2 sisters, Machel Considine and husband, Tom and Brigette Gean and a host of other relatives and friends.
