Jerry Don Horton was born November 22nd, 1974 in Morristown, Tennessee to Lona Lee (Shepard) and Gerald Taylor Horton. He passed away Thursday, July 17th, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 50 years, 7 months and 25 days.

Jerry, known by his family as "J.D.", moved with his family as an infant to Amarillo, Texas. At the age of 4 they moved to Oklahoma where they resided near Foss Lake. He attended Butler High School where he worked for Leland Wright on his farm and was also a member of the graduating class of 1994. While in high school he attended Western Oklahoma Vo-Tech where he focused on welding. After graduation he furthered his knowledge in welding by attending Tiger Welding School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Upon completion of welding school, Jerry spent the next 15 years traveling across the United States constructing boilers for power plants. The last 15 years of his life he has worked with Smith Farms in their cattle operation. In what little spare time Jerry had, he could be found enjoying the outdoors hunting, fishing, and teaching other about the outdoors.

He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Lona Horton, Foss, OK; sister, Amy Oleande and husband, K.J., Jackson, LA; 2 nephews, Noah and Kason Oleande and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
