Obituary

James Curtiss Porter, II was born March 30th, 1956 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Hazel May (Goyne) and James Curtiss Porter. He passed away July 12th, 2022 at his sons home east of Carter, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 12 days. Jim grew up in Ft. Worth where he attended school at Paschal High School. After school, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy in 1974. After his discharge from serving stateside he immediately began working starting a 45 year career in the oil and natural gas industry. He began testing wells and in the 1990's he worked for Halliburton running open hole packers and ended his career as a flow tester. Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, drag racing, spending time with his grandchildren, his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Kim Porter. Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda, Houston, OK; daughter, Kassie Brandon and husband, Caleb, Woodward, OK; 1 son, JW Porter and wife, Madison, Carter, OK; 7 grandchildren, Wyatt, Milee, Toby, Danni, Anndi, Logan, and Erik; sister, Tammy Porter, Houston, TX; his dog son, Jack and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
