Janis Ann Flick was born May 23rd, 1947 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Virginia Katherine (Page) and Neil Long. She passed away in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026 at the age of 78 years, 7 months and 28 days.

Janis grew up in the Hammon, Oklahoma community where she attended high school. After graduation in 1965, she attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and began her family. Janis found employment with the First Federal Savings and Loan in Elk City before beginning her career with Larry Wade at the Elk City Daily News. She remained at the newspaper until her retirement in 2018. Janis enjoyed family history, genealogy, and being a self proclaimed private investigator but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her 3 grandchildren, Peyton, Trent, and Tatum and attending any activities they were involved in.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother.

Janis is survived by her son, Ryan Flick and wife, Megan, Elk City, OK; 3 grandchildren, Peyton, Trent, and Tatum Flick; 2 sisters, Mavis Collins and husband, Dean, and Arla Robbins and husband, Johnny, both of Hammon, OK; 2 nieces, Maggie Miller and Katherine Bennett; 4 nephews, Brian Collins, Phillip Collins, Jeremy Robbins, and Tony Robbins as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
