Janis Fern Campbell was born July 9th, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Pauline Eloise (Whitley) and Elmer Shirley Hunt. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Friday, October 6th, 2023 at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 27 days.

Janis grew up in the Bulo, New Liberty, and Sayre communities. She attended school in all three towns. She was married to Audy "Corky" Cliften Campbell on December 21st, 1955 on a leave from the United States Army when he was transferred to Ft. Benning in Georgia. They made their home in Georgia for 2 years while Corky completed his military service. In 1957 they returned to the family farm where they raised their family and made their home. Janis was the epitome of a "farmers wife" and could often be seen completing chores while Corky was working in town. She was know to be a quilter, enjoyed being in the bowling league, fishing, sewing, and all different kinds of crafts, but her passion was her family, spending time with them, and spoiling her granddaughters.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 brothers, Dewey and Bill Hunt; and a son-in-law, Joey Duncan.

Janis is survived by her 3 daughters, Debbie Duncan, Sayre, OK, Teresa Hickerson and husband, Paul, Mt. Park, OK, and Carolyn Connell and husband Bobby, Sayre, OK; 2 granddaughters, Devin Locklear and husband, Bobby, Yukon, OK, and Paula Hickerson, Denton, TX; 2 great granddaughters, Taegan and Azelie; 2 siblings, Vonnie Robinson and Randy Hunt and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 at 10:30 AM at the Trinity Fellowship officiated by Lonnie Olson. Arrangements are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
