Janice Sue Crosby Smith was born on October 26, 1953 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Billy Mac Crosby and Shirley Faye (West) Crosby. She passed away on May 31, 2026 at 72 years, 7 months, and 5 days. She attended Erick schools until 1970. She was a homemaker, an LVN until back problems made her change profession, at which time she worked as a dispatcher for Wheeler County at the Shamrock Police Department.  She later returned to her role as a homemaker. She was a devout Christian and enjoyed doing Bible studies, no matter the subject, she just loved studying God's word.

She is proceeded in death by her father, Billy Mac, her oldest son, Shawn Dean, and a host of many other family members to welcome her home.

She is survived by her husband, Sydney Smith, her mother, Shirley, sister Vera, Brothers Jerry  and wife Glenda, Ronald and wife Diana, son Billy and wife Kristina, 5 grandkids, 5 great grandkids, 8 nieces and nephews, and many other kids that called her Nana.

She will be interred in the Erick Cemetery next to her son Shawn.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the Erick Church of Christ in Erick, OK at 10:00 A.M.
