Janet Lee Miller was born on March 8th, 1952 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Marie (Forrester) and Chester Lewis Cox. She passed away at home in Elk City on April 10th, 2024 at the age of 72. If you knew Jan, you felt her caring and loving heart.

Jan grew up in Dill City, OK, where she attended Dill City Schools, graduating in 1970. As a young child, Jan loved playing in the backyard of her home and running with the neighborhood troop of children. She loved listening to the neighbor's band. In High School, Jan was the manager of the Dill City Red Devil Basketball Team. Jan loved to sing, and was a proud Alto in Mrs. Juanita Wham's choir. As an adult she sang with the "Pointless Sisters" in the UMC Chancel Choir, directed once again by Mrs. Wham.

Jan met Joe Miller, the love of her life, by happy accident when she went to fill the tank of her 1960 Ford. They were married at the Dill City First Baptist Church on March 24th, 1972, which is Joe's birthday. Jan's first job was at the Elk City Pants Factory. Later, she worked at the Elk City Community Hospital for 10 years. Jan enjoyed the friendship and florals when she worked at Hylton's Flowers in the 1990's. Her final occupation was a Special Education Paraprofessional in Elk City Schools. Jan retired from education in 2000 and was a caregiver for her mother. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Jan and Joe loved to travel, and she was always plotting and planning their next trip. Jan loved to meet new people, and even "imported" new family members by way of exchange students. Jan and Joe were the happy proprietors of "Millers Madhouse", where you could always get a snack and probably Jan would make you take some goodies home with you.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Kathy Cox, one brother, "Terry" Cox, and a grandson, Jace Moreland Ellis.

Jan is survived by her husband Joe, of the home; her children, Stephanie Ellis and husband, Scott of Elk City, William Miller and his wife Heather, Elk City, and a Bonus Son, Alex Pedron, of Winter Park, Florida. Her grandchildren are Blake Miller, Cade Ellis, Morgan Miller, Parker Miller, and Andi Miller. Jan has one sister, Carole Vermillion and her husband Jack, of Sapulpa. From Atchisons, Forresters, Coxes to Millers and more, there are too many relatives and friends to list, and she loved them all.
