Jamie
Lakey
Sep 11, 1976 — Nov 21, 2025
On November 21, 2025, James Robert Walker Lakey II (Jamie) fell asleep in Christ thanks to the shed blood of his Lord and Savior.
Jamie was born on September 11, 1976, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Robert and Sue Ann Lakey, and he spent most of his life right where he felt most at home - Sayre, OK. He graduated from Sayre High School in 1995 and went on to earn a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Oklahoma Baptist University, followed by an MBA from the University of Oklahoma. A Sooner fan literally from birth, Jamie managed to work OU pride into just about anything.
For 24 years he was married to Robin, his steady partner in life, and together they raised two sons, Lawson and Landry, who brought him endless pride and joy.
Jamie served as VP and lending officer at Great Plains Bank of Sayre. Next, he became the Sayre branch manager of the First National Bank & Trust of Elk City, replacing his dad. He then took a leap into entrepreneurship. He founded three businesses in Sayre. The first was LandBlaze Energy through which he conducted his oil and gas landman business. When Oklahoma passed its medical marijuana initiative, Jamie opened his second and favorite venture, The Canopy Releaf dispensary in Sayre. His third and most recent business was Karma Wine & Spirits.
Giving back to his community, Jamie served on the Sayre City Council for several years and was a past member and President of the Sayre Rotary Club.
Jamie believed in God's grace. He often called himself "an imperfect person in an imperfect world," referring to Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." He had a unique gift for loving the unlovable and making space for people exactly as they were.
He is survived by his wife, Robin; his sons, Lawson and Landry; his parents, Robert and Sue Ann Lakey of Sayre; his sister Lindsay Northcutt and her spouse Jeremy of Grapevine, TX; his nephews Miles, Knox, and Hayes Northcutt; his niece Lakey Northcutt; and his best friend Zeus, a loyal Neapolitan Mastiff. He also leaves behind a community of people who are better for having known him.
Jamie will be missed deeply by his family and those who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. His life will be celebrated as a life that was honest, generous, and full of compassion.
