James "Jim" Miller was born October 28th, 1946 in Midwest City, Oklahoma to Eva May (Richmond) and James Gilbert Miller. He passed away Monday, May 26th, 2025 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 28 days.
Jim grew up in Midwest City, Oklahoma and attended elementary school at Barnes Elementary and graduated as a part of the first graduating class of Carl Albert High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force thinking he would get to see the world only to be stationed in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. While in the service he met Sharon Kay (Clark) and they were later married on November 24, 1967. They made Elk City their home and raised their family. Jim provided for his family driving a truck for Kelly Milk and Glen Heffington Trucking. He operated his own trucks until 1988 when he bought C&C Salvage and continued to own and operate until present. After Sharon's death in 2001, Jim continued to live in Elk City and operate his business. He later met and was married to Carol Douglas in December of 2007. They continued to make Elk City their home. Jim's only hobbies were working and drinking coffee with his friends every morning. Any spare time Jim had was spent with his family and especially enjoying his time with grandchildren. He was also a member of the 2nd & Adams Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Sharon; second wife, Carol; and one sister, Joan Miller.
Jim is survived by his 3 children, David Miller and wife, Amy, Elk City, OK, Brian Miller and wife, Yvette, Elk City, OK, and Jamie Doughty and husband, Dennis, Duncan, OK; 7 grandchildren, Ethan Miller and wife, Madisson, Rachel Miller, Cole Doughty and wife, Leigha, Charles Thomas, Erin Doughty, Kate Doughty, and Nathan Miller; 1 great granddaughter on the way, Blakely Doughty; 1 brother, Danny Miller and wife, Sharon and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
