Obituary

James Lee Eichelberger was born June 4th, 1946 in Amarillo, Texas and raised by his mother Verna Lora (Johnson) and adopted by Buster Eichelberger. He passed away in Oklahoma City on Friday, May 17th, 2024 at the age of 77 years, 11 months and 13 days.

James, known by most as "Jim", grew up Mena, Arkansas where he attended school graduating from Keys High School in 1964. After graduation he furthered his education in Miami, Oklahoma where he attended college aspiring to be a chiropractor. Jim began his career in trucking hauling chickens and eventually moved to western Oklahoma where he obtained employment with Farmers Supply hauling gravel, rock, sand, and dirt to oil field locations for the better part of 18 years. It was during his time in a truck where he obtained the handle "Goober". Jim continued his career over the road until his retirement in April 2012 with Gilmore Trucking. After his retirement, Jim enjoyed raising horses, riding horses in parades, attending estate auctions, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father, Jim Omega McDonald; wife, Louise; son, Donald Mullins; brother, Johnny McDonald.

Jim is survived by his 5 children, Frank Geibler, Topeka, KS, Laura Parker, Sayre, OK, LaDonna McLeod, Sayre, OK, Jimmy Eichelberger, Blackwell, OK, and Cindy Caldwell, Sayre, OK; 18 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 4 sisters, Becky Hamilton, 5 sisters, Linda Necessary, Rita Eichelberger, Suzie Hammervold, and Carry McDonald; 2 brothers, Jamie McDonald, and Butch McDonald and a host of other relatives and friends.
