Jackie "Shawn" Dunlap was born on February 27, 1968 to Jackie Wayne and Mae (Sizemore) Dunlap in Borger, TX. He passed on September 19, 2026 in Elk City, OK at the age of 58 years, 6 months, and 23 days. Shawn grew up in Claude, TX and attended Claude High School graduating with the class of 1986. On January 16, 1988 he married Christina Smith in Shamrock, TX and to this union two children were born Skyla and Cody. They made their home in Amarillo, TX, where he worked as a freight hauler. In 1998, they made their home in Elk City, OK and he continued driving a truck. When he was 35, Shawn continued his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and obtained his associates degree in Nursing, all while working derricks at night in the oil field. After four years in the nursing field, his passion for the oilfield drew him back into the industry working as a contract flow hand for multiple companies. Because of the scheduling and time away from his family working in the oil field, he went back to driving a truck in order to be home more often. In his spare time, he loved the outdoors. Shawn enjoyed hunting, hiking and traveling with his family. He was known for his spontaneous personality, unpredictable humor and for his ability to write parody songs for his kids and wife. Most of all, family came first for Shawn. He always made sure his family was provided for no matter how hard he had to work. Shawn was not known for sitting still unless he was doing research on his next project and he was always going 100% full throttle. He was always willing to make sacrifices for those he cared about. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mae Dunlap.Shawn is survived by his wife of the home Christina Dunlap; daughter Skyla Dunlap of Elk City, OK; son Cody Dunlap and wife Shayna of Elk City, OK; grandson Brandon Dunlap and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends and his brother he never had Arthur Pledger.
