Helen Marie West was born September 28th, 1939 in Roosevelt, Oklahoma to Leonard and Virgie West. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Saturday, April 19th, 2025 at the age of 85 years, 6 months, and 22 days.

Helen, known by her grandkids as "Meme", grew up and spent most of her life in Beckham County. She married Doyle Reed on July 5th, 1955. Together they had 3 daughters, Donna, Barbara and Sharon. Helen loved going to the casino, quilting, doing crossword puzzles, gardening, and spending time with her family. Her grandkids brought her so much joy.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Barbara Brashears and Sharon Kinzy; 2 grandsons Billy "Buddy" Scoggins and Michael Smith; 1 great granddaughter Oaklee Gray; 1 sister Reba Davis.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Donna Capps, Shamrock, TX; 5 granddaughters, Misty Riley and husband, Robert, Shamrock, TX, Brandi Calcote Elk City, OK, Ashley Reeder and husband, Brad, Shamrock, TX, Erica Kinzy, Sayre, OK, and Anna Lacy, Elk City, OK. 12 great grandkids with 1 on the way; 3 great, great grandsons; 2 sisters, Letha Downs, Elk City, OK and Judy Barker and husband, Gary, Erick, OK; 1 brother, Larry West and wife, Carolyn, Erick, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
