Harold John Reemts was born November 8th, 1937 in Rock Rapids, Iowa to Susie Hermina (Meester) and John Hiko "Jack" Reemts. He passed away at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years and 15 days.
Harold grew up in Rock Rapids, Iowa and attended Lyon County High School graduating in 1956. After graduation he began his career in meat processing. On October 4th, 1958 he was married to his high school sweetheart, Lila Ann (White), after she graduated high school in Rock Rapids, Iowa. Together they began their family in Rock Rapids, Iowa until 1971 when they moved to Enid, Oklahoma when Harold began with United Supermarkets. He was later transferred to Snyder, Oklahoma. After a "disagreement", he began working for Puckett's in 1980 where he continued until his retirement in 2019. It was during this time, after his separation from Lila, that he met and married Fern Reemts on December 29th, 2000 in Sayre, Oklahoma. Throughout his life, Harold was extremely active in 3 different methodist church congregations and served in the capacity of janitor for those. He also enjoyed youth and was involved in Sayre All Sports, even though he had no children in sports. He was also instrumental in the first Sayre "Rowdy" mascot uniform. He also was active in the Lion's club and enjoyed woodworking, cooking out, and being Santa Clause for over 50 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Fern Reemts; 2 brothers, Virgil and Vernon Reemts.
Harold is survived by 4 children, Michelle Richmond and husband, David, Sayre, OK, Roy Reemts and wife, Rachel, Chattanooga, OK, Marlis Vermilion and husband, David, Bowie, MD, and Carol McArthur and husband, Daryl, Clinton, OK; 7 grandchildren, Lillie, Leah, Crystal, Jon, Jameson, Brian, and Kristi; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; 1 sister, Laura Mattoon and husband, Dick, Ames, IA and a host of other relatives and friends.
