Gloria Kay (Musick) Handke passed away on September 28, 2026. She will be remembered for the lasting impression she left on everyone she met, her fierce devotion to family, and her gift for caring for others.
Gloria dedicated her life first to her daughter Tanya and then to more than 50 foster children whose lives were changed by the time they spent in their home. While living in Butler she was a familiar and energetic presence in the community and schools. Her social-butterfly nature made her a natural organizer; she planned and promoted fundraising events that helped build the town marquee and later secured the grant that made the community center possible.She was a talented and artistic crafter who almost always had a project in her hands—unless she was playing cards or board games with the family and friends she loved.She was preceded in death by her mother Faye, her father TJ Musick, and her bonus mother Dorothy Musick.Gloria is survived by her husband Doug Handke, her daughter Tanya Tuttle and son-in-law Daniel; grandchildren Adrien Rockhold, Cory Rockhold, Clara Livingston, and Kyler Jenkins; sister Tammy Jeffrey; sister of the heart Carrie Dawn Lovett; niece Valisha; nephews Rowdy and Travis; and her beloved great-nephew Kyle, who was a steady and loving presence in her care. She also leaves many other extended family members, her dear friend Rebecca Malson and countless other beloved friends. The family wishes to acknowledge Wes, Gloria’s very special friend, for his unwavering support and devotion.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 16, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Butler Community Center.
