Glenna Faye Evans was born March 9th, 1928 in Carter, Oklahoma to Iva Olive (Robinson) and Ted Roosevelt Abernathy. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 at the age of 98 years, 5 months and 17 days.

Glenna grew up in the Carter, Oklahoma community and attended Highway School. Soon after graduation she was married to Jimmy Oswell Evans and made their home south of Elk City, Oklahoma where they raised their family. Throughout her life, Glenna found employment at the Elk City Daily News, Lad and Lassie, and also for Dr. Koch. Glenna was a master seamstress and could be called on by her daughters or the community to alter clothing.

Glenna was a member of the Homemaker's Club, Elk City Round-up Club and had a love for playing Rook, Chicken Foot, Domino's and tennis with their friends. Anyone that knows Glenna, knows that African violets were her favorite plant, as she could transplant and grow them like no other. She was also a volunteer at GPRMC and a member of 2nd and Adams Church of Christ where she spent many years with her brothers and sisters in Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jimmy.

Glenna is survived by her 2 daughters, Connie Butcher, Elk City, OK and Jill Evans, South of Elk City, OK; 2 grandsons, Brady Butcher and Beau Butcher as well as a bonus family, Daryle and Carrie Perry.
