Obituary

Gary Dale Robinson passed away at the age of 84 on August 13, 2026. Gary was born in Shattuck, OK on January 28, 1942 to his parents Delmar and Alene (Glenn) Robinson. Gary was raised in Strong City, OK, where he attended Elementary School then later attended High School in Cheyenne, OK. He went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Panhandle A & M College in Goodwell, OK. Gary married Jerrie (Reagan) Robinson in Clayton, NM on May 27, 1967. Gary and Jerrie became true partners in all aspects of their 54 years together. They were proud of their 3 children, especially the families and lives they created.

Gary held various jobs throughout the years. He spent the majority of his life as a cattleman. G and R Cattle Company started in Northwest Kansas and later moved operations to the Bowling Green, KY area. Gary and Jerrie worked hard to develop a successful business. His career required lots of traveling and brought opportunities to add to his many lifelong adventures.

If you were lucky enough to know Gary, then you probably have a story to tell. Gary was a cowboy through and through, continuing to ride all his life. At 83 he was still taking part in fall roundup. He was an avid bird hunter, loved his dogs, and never missed an opening weekend hunt. Gary also made it his mission to stay in contact with his family and friends, both old and new. After caring for and losing Jerrie, he found new purpose when a special young man came into his life and began many new adventures.

Gary received Christ at a young age. He faithfully attended Sunday service and was a strong believer in the power of Sunday School. He remained a strong student of the Bible throughout this life. Gary relied on his faith to guide him through both the trials and celebrations of life, while setting this example for his children.

Gary is preceded in death by his wife Jerrie, his parents, his brother Farrell Robinson, and his sister Sue (Robinson) Sanchez.

Gary is survived by his children Debbie and Joe Powders of Freedom, OK; Gaylon and Sherry Robinson of Cimmaron, KS; Tammy and Brendan Fangman of Dumas, TX; Datavius Ford of Arapaho, OK; grandchildren Kelsy and Justin Boots, Jesse Powders, Baylee and Andrew Robinson, Macy Fangman; great grandchildren Cooper, Bella, Rowdy, Charlie; extended family; and of course, his many, many wonderful friends.

The family would like to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you to the many friends and neighbors who were there for Gary in his times of need. Your love and care for our Dad and Papa will never be forgotten.
