Gary Carroll Phillips was born February 8th, 1957 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Carroll Estelle (Prather) and Alvin Woodrow Phillips. GREAT SCOTT!!!! He passed away at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma on Friday, January 24th, 2025 at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 16 days.

Gary grew up in the New Liberty and Sayre communities attending school at Sayre. During his time in school he was an outstanding baseball player where he had numerous awards. He was a part of the Sayre graduating class of 1975 and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where he obtained his associates degree. He returned back to the Sayre area where he farmed and ranched on the family farm. Gary was a natural athlete and enjoyed snow skiing, golfing, water skiing, and bowling. On March 1st he bowled a perfect game. As his family grew he despised the cold and enjoyed family vacations to the beach and tropical locations. Later in life he was a huge supporter of not only his kids and grandkids, but also his nieces and nephews. Gary was a humble and simple man unless he won a contest then he wanted everyone to know. The family also knew that Gary was a history buff and "closet soap opera watcher" that loved loud music, was a news and politic professional that loved to drink his coffee and was an amateur weatherman. His grandchildren also loved the "papa juice" that they enjoyed with him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Doug Phillips; and one sister, Molly Carlson.

Gary is survived by his wife, Tamie, of the home; 3 children, Brandi Thompson and husband, Matt, Canute, OK, Luke Phillips and wife, Emily, Edmond, OK, and Brittney Hill and husband Ben, Sayre, OK; 8 grandchildren, Wyatt, Kenzie, Maddox, Channing, Laven, Nash, Ethan, and Karsten; one brother, Mike Phillips and wife, DeeAnn; one sister, Kay Phillips and Jill Mortensen; brother-in-law, Dean Carlson and a host of other relatives and friends.
