Florence Lee Morgan was born on October 6th, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas to Maude Cecile (Lindsey) and Daniel David Alcorn. She passed away in Elk City, Oklahoma on April 26, 2025 at the age of 93 years, 6 months and 20 days.
Florence grew up in San Antonio and El Paso, Texas where she attended school graduating from Lee High School in 1949. After graduation she furthered her education at Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas for 2 semesters before returning to San Antonio where she found employment and met Leonard Berry Morgan. They were later married on June 23, 1956 and made their home initially Van Horn, Texas where Leonard was employed. Throughout the next 18-20 years they made their home and raised their family in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. Florence, being one that never quit learning, obtained her bachelors degree in education and later her master's degree in education with a specialty in reading. Florence and Leonard spent the majority of their teaching careers in Knox City, Three Way, and Silverton, Texas. After Leonard's retirement in the early 1990's they moved to Llano, Texas where Florence continued to teach until her retirement in the late 1990's. They remained in Llano, Texas until 2010 when they moved to Elk City, Oklahoma to be closer to their family. She enjoyed painting, playing Bridge, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Morgan; parents Maude and David Alcorn; and 2 brothers, James and Robert Alcorn.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Janet Lee and husband, David Gibbs of Abingdon, VA and Judy Lynn and husband Scotty Adams of Elk City, OK; grandchildren, Matthew Gibbs, Nathan Gibbs and wife, Michele, and Jeanie Adams and husband, Leon; great grandchildren, Morgan May, and Allison Grace Gibbs, Scott Eugene and Deklin James Adams; extended family and a host of friends.
