Obituary

Eric Shane Coogle was a one-of-a-kind soul who lived life on his own terms and left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Eric was born on November 3rd, 1975 to Roy and Nyla (Young) Coogle in Cheyenne, OK. He went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 15th, 2026.
At just six weeks old, Eric spent time at Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. That diagnosis changed the path his life would take, but it never defined who Eric was. From the very beginning, Eric showed the world that he was going to do things his way. He made his own rules.Eric faced challenges that many people could never imagine, yet he continued to find his own way through life. His disabilities were only one part of his story. They did not take away his personality, his spirit, his humor, or the unique way he saw the world.Eric was strong-willed, determined, and unforgettable. He had a way of doing things that was entirely his own, and those who knew him best wouldn't have wanted him any other way.Eric attended Crawford Elementary School before moving on to Cheyenne High School where he graduated with the class of 1994.Eric came to know Jesus as a teenager and was an active member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford, OK.Eric loved country music and cheering for his favorite bull rider, Sage Kimzey. If Eric wasn’t at a concert or a rodeo, you could find him at a court or baseball field cheering for his Bears, Lady Bears and baseball loving nephews. He will be remembered not for what his diagnoses said he could or couldn't do, but for the person he was—the life he lived, the people he loved, and the memories he leaves behind.Eric was preceded in death by his father, Roy Coogle, his paternal grandparents, Bill and Ila Mae Coogle and maternal grandparents, Willard and Eula Mae Young. Eric is survived by his mother Nyla (Young) Coogle of Crawford Ok, his sister, Erin Roberts and husband Kevin of Burkburnett TX, his brother Nathan and wife Megan Coogle of Crawford, Ok, nieces Natalee and Lexi Webb and nephews Dacota Coogle, Kaleb and Kallen Roberts and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Eric’s life was different from what anyone may have imagined when he was only six weeks old, but he made it his life. And he lived it by his own rules. He will be deeply missed and forever loved but we find comfort in knowing he is walking the streets of heaven with Jesus by his side. #legend
