Warren Douglas Yates was born June 5th, 1964 in Norton, Virginia to Elsie Mae (Cox) and Alfred Andrew Yates. He passed away at Cordell, Oklahoma on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at the age of 59 years, 10 months and 9 days.

Doug grew up in Wise, Virginia where he attended school. At an early age he found employment working on coal mining trucks. Doug was self-taught in everything he did and excelled teaching himself the in's and out's of being a diesel mechanic. He remained in the coal mining industry until his health forced his retirement. It was at this point in 2019, that his family moved him to Oklahoma to be near his family. In Doug's spare time he enjoyed being on the golf course, playing his guitar, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents; and one infant sister, Clara.

Doug is survived by 3 children, Tara Kay Yates, Wise, VA, Douglas Yates and wife, Laura, Burns Flat, OK, and Amanda Yates, Wise, VA; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Eddie Yates and wife, Karen, Horn Lake, MS; 1 sister, Marie Lindley, Decatur, AL; special friends, Beldon Cantrell, and Dennis Lee Underwood and a host of other relatives and friends.
