Lloyd Douglas Stevens was born February 11, 1942 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Johnnie James Stevens and Velma (Morgan) Stevens Reece. Doug had five sisters and later had two younger brothers. Doug spent a lot of his youth on horseback. He left home at an early age and made his own way in the world. He met and married Janet Sifford of Hammon. They moved around to several towns including Hereford, TX, Cheyenne, Hammon, then settling in Elk City. To this union were born Doug Jr., David and Danny. Doug was good at whatever he did; he built homes in Elk City, but spent the majority of his life as an auto mechanic at his own business Stevens Auto Repair; later in his life he sold vehicles. Anyone who knew Doug knew he never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. Doug's favorite snacks were snickers bars and Dr. Pepper. His hobbies included, racing cars, watching westerns, and sharing his love for the Lord, but his greatest joy, without a doubt was his grandchildren. He loved them very much and loved spending time with them. He attended as many of their activities as he could and never missed paying them all a weekly allowance every Friday. Doug passed away June 1, 2022, at the age of 80 with his family by his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Barbara Rasmussen of Weatherford, OK, Joyce Stevens of Hinton, OK, brothers Russell Reece of Hinton, OK and F.L. Reece of Elk City and granddaughter Krista Stevens of Elk City. He is survived by his three sons, Doug Stevens Jr and wife Kandy, David Stevens, and Danny Stevens and wife Debby all of Elk City. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kassi Wynn and husband Joel of Elk City. Kirsten Patton and husband Dalton of Granite, OK, Kailey Bullock of Yukon, OK, Kolton Stevens of Oklahoma City, Dalton Stevens of Elk City, OK, and Kourtney Williams and husband Sam of Savannah, GA. Great grandchildren, Bentley Patton, Kason Wynn, Brooklyn Bullock, and Blaire Bullock. Also sisters, Ann Keel of Hot Springs AR, Sue and husband C. D. Erickson of Tuttle, OK and Kay and husband Mike Ahern of El Reno, OK as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, whom he all loved.
