Doris Jean Cossey was born June 15th, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to Shella Ilene (Hufsey) and Harold Edward Hunt. She passed away Sunday, June 26th, 2022 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years and 11 days. Doris lived in Chicago until the age of 10 when she moved to Los Angeles, California attending school in both locations. After her schooling, she began her family and remained at home caring for her children. Doris later moved to the Las Vegas area where she worked as a "change girl" in the casino's. She found herself in many different states across the United States. In 1975 she moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma and began waitressing to provide for her family. Doris was a free spirit that enjoyed reading, baking, gardening, spending time inquiring about her family's business, and being funny, strong willed and feisty. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Volner; 2 sisters; and one niece, Jessica Costa. Doris is survived by her children, Steven Volner and wife, David Gundersen and wife, Sybil Langley and husband, and Jason Cossey and wife; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Leroy and Richard Hunt and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held July 9th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the top of Mount Scott in Medicine Park, Oklahoma.
