Dewayne Stewart was born December 19th, 1944 in Borger, Texas to Lillie Pearl (Bussey) and Wilburn Dewitt Stewart. He passed away Thursday, August 18th, 2022 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 30 days. Dewayne grew up in Erick, Oklahoma where he attended school. At a young age Dewayne helped on the family farm hauling hay and working the land. He could often be seen mowing lawns around the town of Erick and always had a wave or a friendly gesture for anyone that he came in contact with. Dewayne also enjoyed collecting and trading pocket knives, socializing with family and friends over a Dr. Pepper and a pack of Trident watermelon or cinnamon gum, and being an avid University of Oklahoma fan. He is preceded by his parents and 6 siblings. Dewayne is survived by his sister-in-law, Letha Stewart, Erick, OK; nieces, Lanette Resor, Erick, OK and Melissa Underwood, Leander, TX; nephew, Bryan Stewart, Erick, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
