Dennis Lee Smith was born June 15th, 1960 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Samuel Lee Smith and Mary Sue Smith. He passed away Thursday, August 17th, 2023 at his home in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 2 months and 2 days.

Dennis attended school in Elk City, Oklahoma graduating in 1978. He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard on September 6th, 1977 and discharged as PUT2 on October 26th, 1981. He met and was married to Penny Kay Frederick in February of 1981 and to this union one child was born, Tina Michelle DelaCruz. He later met and married Rhonda Sue Willeford in April of 2002, and to this union two kids were born, Taneeka Dawn Smith and Dennis Lee Smith, Jr. After his marriage with Rhonda dissolved, he later reunited with his first love Penny, where he lived until his passing. Dennis enjoyed fishing, playing softball, watching Dallas Cowboy football, but more than anything he loved being with family. Dennis was a jack of all trades, if it was broke he could fix it. Dennis spent his working career in the plumbing and HVAC industry. He was the neighborhood repairman, often fixing houses for people because he loved helping others for free. He was a true legend, if you knew him you loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Samuel Smith; two sisters, Jimmie Holmes and Donna Ruth Farley; grandparents, Doc and Katie Edmundson; four close cousins, Dudley, Vern, Shugg, and Eddie Gene; and one nephew, Leo.

Dennis is survived by his first wife, Penny Kay Frederick, of the home; mother, Mary Smith, Elk City, OK; three daughters, Tina DeLaCruz and husband, Roy, Taneeka Smith, and Sheena Grayson, all of Elk City, OK; three sons, Dennis Smith, Jr., Oklahoma City, OK, Roy DelaCruz, Elk City, OK, and Reno Medley, Elk City, OK; 3 sisters, Florene Fuqua, Janet Mathis, and Katie Dixon and husband, Monte, all of Elk City, OK; 3 brothers, Sammy Smith, Watonga, OK, Donnie Smith and wife, Tara, Elk City, OK, and Charles Smith and wife Tonya, Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons, Isaiah, Xaivier, Daniel, Zy'airre, and Alex; granddaughters, Khylyr, Eliana, Maliyah, Aniyah, Emmy, Adrianna, Allison, and Angelina and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
