Dennis Leon Gray was born on January 13, 1953, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Betty (McClung) and Alvin Gray. He passed away in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 6, 2026, at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 24 days.

Dennis attended school in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1971. After high school he was married to Cindy (White) and together they had four children Jennifer, Tara, Brian, and Sean. In 1988, Dennis and his family moved to Dill City, Oklahoma, where they made their home. He later moved to Lawton, Oklahoma.

Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Sean Gray; his father, Alvin Gray; and his brothers, Larry Gray and Robin Gray.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Sparks; daughters, Jennifer Shaffer and husband, Jon, Tara Shockley and husband, Frank; son, Brian Gray and wife Nicole; brother, David Gray and wife Kari; sisters, Connie Thompson, and husband, Joe, Pam Gray, Linda Duke; eight grandchildren, Matthew Shockley, Chandler Shockley, McKinsey Gray, Jordan Wood, Audree Gray, Nash White, Danny Acevedo, and Josh Acevedo as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
