Obituary

Debora "Debbie" Kay Risinger was born on August 26, 1956 to Donnie Gene Johnson Sr. & Reba Nell (Owens) Johnson in Elk City, OK. She passed away August 17, 2024 in Elk City, at the age of 67, surrounded by her family.

Debbie grew up in the Merritt community where she attended school. She graduated in 1974 as the valedictorian of her class. After high school she attended Sayre Junior College in Sayre, OK. She worked at United Supermarket where she met her husband, Gary, before beginning her career in the oil & gas industry. She began her 45-year career in 1977 and continued her profession until she retired from Mach Resources in 2022. Throughout the turbulent years in the oil & gas industry, Debbie also worked at First National Bank and Trust of Elk City. On March 22, 1982 she married Gary Risinger in Sayre, OK; welcoming her stepson Brandon into the family. To this union, two daughters were born; Kyleigh & Khelsea. They made their home in Elk City, where she lived the remainder of her life.

Debbie loved to spend time with her daughters; going to concerts, sporting events & antique shows. She enjoyed cooking, reading, shopping & thrifting. She liked quilts, angels, vintage dishes & spending time in her flower beds. She loved her fur (grand)babies: Lucy, Vivi, Trilly Gene, Toby, Roachie, Leila & Minnie. She loved going to the Women's College World Series every year. She enjoyed spending time with her game club friends and traveling to see new sights. Debbie was a very social person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Donnie G. Johnson Sr. & Reba N. Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Jasper and Ella Owens & her paternal grandparents, Richard and Stella Johnson.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Gary Risinger, of the home; daughter Kyleigh Risinger of Yukon, OK; daughter Khelsea Risinger of Elk City; stepson Brandon Risinger, and his wife Heather of Owasso, OK and their children Noah & Ellianna. She was proud Oma to Jimmy Parker King; sister to Linda Page & husband Jimmy of Hammon, OK; sister to Donnie Johnson Jr. and wife Nancy of Elk City, OK; sister to Barbara King and husband, Johnny of Yukon, OK & long-time friend to Sherry Rice. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
