Deborah Jane (Caughron) Adkerson was born on July 6, 1954, to Ida (Region) Caughron Noblitt and S. J. Caughron in Elk City, Oklahoma where she lived her entire life. She entered her heavenly home on December 21, 2025, where Jesus greeted her with open arms.

Deborah graduated from Elk City High School in 1972. She formed lasting friendships with classmates and remained in close contact with many of them through the years.

She was a self-employed accountant, working from home and providing accounting and tax preparation services to her clients. She was a member of the Elk City United Methodist Church.

On August 5, 1977, Deborah married the love of her life, Coye Dale Adkerson. They shared 40 years together before Coye lost his battle with cancer on October 31, 2017.

Deborah will be remembered as a lover of cardinals, which she believed represented a loved one coming to visit. She found great comfort in the beauty of the red birds.

Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Coye and her sister Brenda Lee Caughron.

She is survived by her daughter Joni RayLynn Adkerson Garrison of Midwest City, Oklahoma and her grandson Caleb Adkerson Garrison of Tishomingo, OK. She is also survived by an extended family and a multitude of friends who loved her.
