Darlene Catherine Spencer was born November 5th, 1941 in York, Pennsylvania to Betty Jane (Sipe) and Warren Henry Stine. She passed away Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 81 years, 1 month and 17 days.
Darlene grew up in Pennsylvania where she attended school. In 1979 she moved to Altus, Oklahoma and then to Elk City in 1981. It was after she moved to Elk City that she met and fell in love with Victor Spencer. They were later married on March 17th, 1984 in Elk City, Oklahoma. They remained in Elk City where she joined Vic in his painting business and was promoted to "The Boss". Together they continued the operation for 36 years until 2020. After their retirement they enjoyed being in their backyard, gardening, and spending time with their family and especially her grandchildren. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Elk City and everyone always commented on her being a wonderful cook.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and 1 granddaughter, Loren Lawrence.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Vic, of the home; 4 daughters, Karen Clothier, Wichita, KS, Lori Blizzard and husband, Mickey, Shell Knob, MO, Vickie Spencer, Elk City, OK, and Yvette Schindler and husband, Gene, Bowie, TX; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bill Stine and wife, Martha, and Steve Stine and wife, Alisa, both of Pennsylvania and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Elk City United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals.com
