Hubert Dan Vernon was born July 8th, 1956 in Denver City, Texas to Faye Genell (Hartman) and Hubert Wade Vernon. He passed away Sunday, June 7th, 2026 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 30 days.

Danny grew up moving around with his family following his fathers employment in the oil and natural gas industry. He spent the majority of his childhood in Denver City, Texas where he attended school and was a member of the Denver City golf team. He graduated high school in 1974 and attended Oklahoma Christian College before transferring to Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture degree in 1979. After graduation, he was married to Marla (Holcomb) in Leedey, Oklahoma and to this union 3 children were born. They made their home in western Oklahoma where he worked and was involved with the Sayre Livestock Auction throughout his life. In the early 1980's, Danny attended the C.L.E.E.T. Police Academy where he graduated earning the high academic achievement award. Danny was employed with the Beckham County Sheriff's Department and served the county in that capacity for over a decade. Before retirement from Beckham County, Danny also worked as a truck driver hauling rock. After his retirement from the county, Danny enjoyed nothing more than to spend his time helping his children and grandchildren with their cattle operations, working concrete construction with his family, helping on the farm, and attending his grandchildren's school events. Danny's greatest life achievement was being called "Grandad".

He is preceded in death by his parents and 1 older brother, David Vernon.

Danny is survived by his children, Kadi Poole and CJ Hagerman, Sayre, OK, Jake Vernon and wife, LaNell, Sayre, OK, and Travis Vernon and Laramee Henry, Sayre, OK; 10 grandchildren, Regan Poole, Payten Poole, Casen Hagerman, Lakyn Poole, Austin Poole, Jester Vernon, July Vernon, Jorja Vernon, Jasper Vernon, Trell Vernon; 3 bonus grandchildren, Bree Varnell, Henley Varnell and Layton Simpson; sister in law, Sue Vernon; nephews, Tommy Vernon, Ty Vernon, and Tim Vernon; special friend and caretaker that he considered family, Julie Berg as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Quartz Mountain Christian Camp or Sayre School Athletics.
