Dana Kay McCullough was born December 17th, 1946 at Elk City, Oklahoma to Veda Fay (Evans) and WD Price. She passed away Saturday, December 12th, 2020 at her home in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 25 days.   Dana grew up in Elk City, Oklahoma where she was a member of the class of 1964. During her high school years she was married to Lyndell Keith McCullough at Cordell, Oklahoma on July 10, 1962. They made their home for a short time in Cordell before moving to Elk City where they made their home in 1963. Dana was employed with area cotton gins as a bookkeeper for many years. Later she and Lyndell bought the Ford dealership in Sayre, Oklahoma on December 15, 1984. They owned and operated McCullough Ford for the next 26 years with her as the office manager/bookkeeper. Dana also helped run the family ranches that they established. For their homeplace, Dana created specific, detailed house plans on graft paper and Lyndell took that design and built their home. Dana enjoyed horseback riding, working outdoors, raising and showing llamas and spending time with her family and friends.   Dana was a member of the Elk City Round Up Club. She was the Round Up Club Queen in her younger years, and served in various officer roles throughout her lifetime. Continuing in her love for animals, Dana began raising and showing llamas. She and several of her rowdy llama lady friends traveled across the states participating in llama showing. Many wonderful friendships began and remain from her love of animals.   She would give you the shirt off her back. She would also give you her opinion wither you wanted it or not. She brought her expanding family together every Sunday by preparing Sunday dinner. Everyone knows Dana wasn't afraid of hard work. "If a job is worth doing, it's worth doing right." HER way was the right way. She wasn't a tomboy but she could do anything a guy could do. Just last year, a neighbor commented to Lyndell, "That's the workin'est woman I've ever seen!"  Dana enjoyed working outside to keep up their homeplace. You could catch her mowing pastures, building fence, painting T-posts, and tending to animals; all while wearing her trademark coveralls. She would stop working only to guzzle a Dr Pepper or two. .Dana always looked forward to Christmas. You could see her bright red Christmas lights all the way from town. Family jokes that the electric company probably sends her a Thank You card every January.   She is preceded in death by her parents.   Dana is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lyndell, of the home; 2 daughters, DaLana Dixon and husband, Danny, Elk City, OK and LaJeana Thompson and husband, Robert, Elk City, OK; 4 grandchildren, Caleb Dixon and wife, Hailey, Jami Dixon, Tyler Thiessen and wife, Payton and Travis Thiessen and wife, Nicole; 9 great grandchildren;  brother, Ronald Price and wife, Sharon, Rockwall, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by an extended family including Johnnie and Tina Dixon, Cole and Judith McClellan, Maurice and Rhonda Wade and a host of other relatives and close life long friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Grandview Church officiated by Pastor Mark Little. Burial will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West.
