Robert Dale Brimer, Sr. was born October 20th, 1939 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Florence Lena (Shipman) and William Joseph "Jess" Brimer. He passed away Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at his home in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 20 days. Dale grew up west of Sayre on the family farm and attended Hext school for the first eight years until transferring to Sayre where he completed high school graduating in 1958. After graduation he found employment with Whitten Construction installing underground telephone cable. He met and was later married to Theresa Fern (Knight) Brimer in Sayre, Oklahoma on September 3rd, 1960. After their marriage they moved to various states following Dale's job. In 1962 he went to work with his father-in-law at Peabody Drilling where they drilled geological samples for coal and uranium. In 1964 he ran a bulldozer. Dale started his career in the oil and natural gas industry with Veirson Cochran, Parker Drilling and ended up with H&P where he spent the next 31 years until his retirement. All throughout these years, Dale ran a cattle operation, sprigged grass, and continued in the oil and natural gas industry consulting. Dale wasn't one to sit idol and in his spare time enjoyed shooting, hunting, trap shooting, fishing, dancing, driving his classic cars and taking trips to car shows. Dale was baptized at the age of 73 and was a member of the Sayre First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Brimer; brother, T.J. Brimer and one infant brother, Billie Brimer. Dale is survived by by his wife of 61 years, Theresa, of the home; 4 children, Lucy Thompson and husband, Rick, Harrah, OK, Robert Brimer, Jr. and wife, Cricket, Erick, OK, Debbie Lazar, Oklahoma City, OK, and Karen Messick and husband, Robert, Sayre, OK; 6 grandchildren, Emilee Thompson, Matthew Brimer, Kaleb Kilhoffer, Karry Rose, Lauren Mendoza, Thomas Meadows; 4 step grandchildren, Brittany, Christen, Bethany, Lilly; great grandchildren, Kayla, Riley, Slone, Slayde, Rylan, Penelope, Kalliope; 10 step great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Sue Jones and husband, Shelby, Woodward, OK, Jackie Brimer and wife, Kay, Sayre, OK, Rita Brimer, Tuscon, AZ, Gary Brimer, Sayre, OK, Judy Goldstrom and husband, John, Duncan, OK; Dale's two dogs, Tuffy and Timmy and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 16th, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Brother Gary Baird.
