Ophie "Colene" Trent
June 10, 1935- February 5, 2024
Ophie Colene Trent was born June 10, 1935 in Hammon, OK, to Chester and Ophie (Morrow) Mathews, and passed away February 5th, 2024 in her Weatherford, Oklahoma, home.
Colene attended Hammon Schools growing up, and on January 28, 1951, she married Billy Lee Trent. After their marriage, they moved to Clinton, Oklahoma for two years before moving to Los Angeles, CA. In 1963, after many moves back and forth to California to be near family, they decided to settle in Elk City, Oklahoma. Bill and Colene were married 66 years.
Colene worked for the Elk City Board of Education for 43 years as a secretary in many capacities. Colene's interests were first and foremost, her husband, children, grandchildren, beloved great-grandchildren, and dog, Penny. She loved to read, crochet, travel, and work in the yard. She loved music, and playing and teaching piano to her great grand, Emma Lou. She loved current events, music, British TV, and anything that had to do with home makeovers. Colene was baptized early in her youth, and was a member of the Church of Christ, Elk City, Oklahoma. Colene loved the Lord, and very much had a servant's heart caring for many family members throughout her life.
