Judith Coleen (Keahey) Scroggins, lovingly known as Coleen, passed away on January 12, 2026, at the age of 72. Born in Elk City, Oklahoma, she was raised in Crawford, where she later returned to build her life and family.

From an early age, Coleen was known for her kindness, her gentle and soft-spoken presence, and her capacity to love others fully. She married Terrell Scroggins shortly after graduating high school, beginning a life marked by hard work, partnership, and deep commitment to family. Over the years, those same qualities shaped the welcoming home she created and the steady presence she offered to all who knew her. She was deeply proud of her family and known for the trust, warmth, and care she extended to family, friends, and students. In her later years, she found great joy in being a grandmother, delighting in time spent with her grandchildren and continuing to offer the same patience, warmth, and encouragement that defined her life. Many remember Coleen not only for her kindness, but also for her natural beauty—inside and out.

Coleen's calling as an educator was evident throughout her career. She taught with patience, creativity, and genuine care, always focused on the impact she could have on each individual student. While she was honored as Teacher of the Year at Arnett Public Schools in 1994 and again at Cheyenne Public Schools during the 2007–2008 school year, she rarely spoke of recognition, finding far greater pride in helping children learn, grow, and feel confident. She was remembered for making learning meaningful and kind, with Spiderville standing out as one of her most memorable classroom traditions—an experience that encouraged participation, curiosity, and understanding.

She is survived by her husband, Terrell Scroggins; her daughters, Tara Smith, married to Jon Smith, and Chelsey Adams, married to Andrew Adams; and her beloved grandchildren, Elliott Smith, and Eli and Amelia Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Fern Keahey, and her brother, Wendell Keahey.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather for lunch and visiting at 12:30 p.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford, Oklahoma. The graveside service will be held at the discretion of the family.

Coleen will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the lives she shaped, and a selflessness that put others first in every season of her life; her beauty evident not only in her presence, but in the kindness and care she showed to everyone around her.
