Christian (Chris) Munger Theis was born in Huntington Hospital in NY on May 13th, 1984. Chris died on March 11, 2023, from Leukemia at his home in Granite, Oklahoma. He was a special child from the beginning, having been born with disabilities. Even with his "disabilities" Chris was a special kid and person. He made friends easily and was outgoing. At an early age, he would help the bus driver find the school, twenty miles away from home. He often amazed people with is friendliness, his smile and his abilities and insights.

Chris moved to Rochester, Minnesota with his parents Larry and Jaclyn Theis. He went to Mayo High School and graduated with the class the class of 2005. He was very popular with students, teachers, administrative and maintenance staff – everyone enjoyed him and made him feel welcome. After high school, Chris moved on to the Arsys Group Home in Rochester and enjoyed living and working there. He was part of the Possibilities work group and an avid member of the crew and was always ready to help on any assignment. He was always an enthusiastic worker and enjoyed going out every day to contribute to his life as he could.

Later, Chris moved with his parents to Lone Wolf, Oklahoma and again to Granite, Oklahoma. He really found his place on earth in Granite and was considered a town icon. Chris could almost always be seen riding his bicycle around town visiting various people and interesting locations. These included the fire station, the police station, the County Barn (where county work crews were stationed) and various businesses. He knew almost everyone and would wave as he travelled through town on his bike. He often worked at the local Mexican restaurant helping with dishes and other work until it closed. Chris was well-loved by townspeople of Granite and will be missed.

Some of the things that Chris enjoyed were attending family reunions, riding in big trucks, riding his bicycle, going on road trips and watching NASCAR races.

Chris is survived by his mother and father. Aunt Midge Melrose, Greenport, NY; Uncle Bill Ruediger (and Julia), Missoula, Montana and Uncle Bob Ruediger, Salem, Oregon; Uncle Joe Theis of Lone Wolf, OK; Uncle Bob and Barbara, Richmond Heights, CA; Uncle Dick (deceased) and Nancy Theis, Sunderland, MA. As well as numerous cousins. The family wishes to thank the people of Granite, Ok and Rochester, MN for making Chris's life meaningful and full of friends. He was one of those exceptional human's that always gave more than he received.
