Cheryl Ann White was born June 16th, 1959 in Greensboro, North Carolina to Ruby Mae (Stevens) and James Calvin Smith. She passed away at her home in Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 63 years, 28 days, 9 hours and 27 minutes. Cheryl grew up in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she attended school graduating in 1977. After graduation she began her family and found employment to provide for her family. She returned to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her bachelors of science in nursing. After graduation she began her nursing career at the Veterans Center in Clinton and continued working for home healthcare and Healthwatch. When her children were grown she returned to school where she received her bachelors in hospital administration with her goal on teaching the younger generation the art and skills of the nursing profession and even completed courses towards her master's degree. In 2005, with the decline in her health, Cheryl was forced to retire. She enjoyed reading, caring for her dogs, and shopping on QVC. She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 great granddaughter. Cheryl is survived by her 4 children, Jalena Raleigh and husband, Gary, Valley Center, KS, Joshua Dove and wife, Christina, Elk City, OK, Zach Dove, Merritt, OK, and Jennifer Dove, Claremore, OK; 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Donna Lovern and husband, Rick, and Yvonne Shelton; 4 brothers, James C. Smith, II, Dennis Croskey, Jerry Smith and wife, Darlene, and Justin Croskey and a host of other relatives and friends. A Celebration of life will be held on July 30, 2022 at the Elks Lodge in Elk City, Oklahoma at 2:00 P.M.
