Charrie Mechelle Appleton was born on October 26, 1972 in Elk City, OK to J.B. and Mallie Louise (Cowell) Appleton in Elk City, OK. She passed on January 31, 2026 at the age of 53 years, 3 months, and 5 days.

Charrie was raised in Elk City and attended school there through the 10th grade, then transferred to Merritt. Charrie married before graduation and moved to Germany for a short time and obtained her GED while there. And attended SWOSU briefly. She made her home in Elk City, OK where she worked various jobs in the service industry. Charrie never met a stranger. She was a free spirit and loved to travel. She loved the outdoors and would spend her days at the lake fishing, camping, and swimming. As a nature enthusiast she loved gardening and flowers, anything to do with the outdoors. Charrie was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers and the OU Sooners. Her greatest pride was of her son, Riley J Appleton and super special grandson Ryder Lane Appleton. Charrie was beloved by many and will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her parents J.B. Appleton and Mallie Elrod, paternal grandparents Walter and Martha Appleton, maternal grandparents Ruth Cox and AL and Nora Lee Cowell, infant baby sister Lorie Lynn Fowler.

Charrie is survived by her son Riley J Appleton of Rush Springs, OK; grandson Ryder Lane Appleton; brother Tommy Fowler and wife Sheri of Elk City, OK, sister Brandi Hamilton of Elk City, OK, brother Jammie J Appleton of Elk City, OK, Kimberlie Castro of Moore, OK, Valerie Castro of Elk City, OK; many nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
