Obituary

Cecelia Rose Schneberger was born January 22nd, 1927 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Barbara Elizabeth (Greteman) and Henry Peter Simon. She passed away at her home in Burns Flat, Oklahoma on Thursday, May 29th, 2025 at the age of 98 years, 4 months and 7 days.

Cecelia, known by most as "Tiny", grew up North of Elk City, Oklahoma and attended school St. Joseph's Catholic School where she graduated. After graduation, she attended St. Anthony's Nursing School until her father was diagnosed with cancer. She returned back home to care for her father and her 8 siblings. Cecelia was married to Albert James Schneberger on February 11th, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. After marriage they began farming in the Burns Flat area where they also raised their family. Cecelia was primarily a homemaker, but also did volunteer work with Elk City Community Hospital where she continued until her health forced her retirement. In what little spare time Cecelia had from helping A.J. in the field, she enjoyed watching RFD TV station, quilting and entering her work in the county fair, cooking fried chicken and baking delicious pie's and up until December 2024 was a part of a group that played cards weekly. She was a member of the St. Matthew Catholic Church and was a part of the Legion of Mary rosary group.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Richard Curnutt; granddaughter, Chandra Renee Schones; 5 siblings, Mary Church, Vincent Simon, John Simon, Bill Simon, and Carl Simon.

Cecelia is survived by her 4 children, Kathaleen Curnutt, Midwest City, OK, Eileen Mullins and husband, Doyle, Weatherford, OK, Elaine Thomas and husband, Billy, Bridgecreek, OK, Dwayne Schneberger and wife, Tina, Burns Flat, OK; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; Cecilia is also survived by brother Robert Simon and wife, Elaine, Merritt, OK, sister Ann Hale and husband, Ed, Norman, OK, and sister Theresa Simon and husband, Ken Say, Norman, OK and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
