Carolyn Sue Montgomery was born June 11th, 1941 in Pampa, Texas to Suzie Caroline (Eldridge) and Luther Clarence Long. She passed away in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on Thursday, June 5th, 2025 at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 25 days.

Carolyn grew up on the Long Ranch near Avant, Oklahoma and Pampa, Texas. She attended school in both towns and at the age of 17 was married to Gearld Dee Montgomery in Pampa, Texas on August 24, 1958. Carolyn and Gearld made their home in Pampa, Texas where Gearld was employed with the bank that had branches in both Pampa and Stratford, Texas. They later moved to Boise City, Oklahoma where both Carolyn and Gearld owned and operated C&G Grocery Store until 1970. It was at that time they moved their family to the Crawford, Oklahoma area and purchased the family home place in 1973. Carolyn was never one to sit idle and found employment cooking at the school, driving a school bus, and helping Gearld on the farm. She also enjoyed crafts, painting, her quilting club, ceramics, porcelain dolls, and managing Jerry's Truck Stop #2. Carolyn was also a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Robert, L.C., and Jerry Don; and 1 sister, Geraldine.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Gearld, of the home; 3 sons, Jerry Montgomery and wife, Janet, Terry Montgomery, and John Langeneckert, all of Crawford, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jerimy Montgomery and wife, Maura, Tim Montgomery, Kristi Hansbro, Joshuah Montgomery, David Montgomery, Sara Allen and husband, Rocky; 10 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 4 sisters, Nadine Meers, Margie Bichsel, Mary Roland, Vicky Gullet; 2 brothers, Johnny Long, and J.D. Cole and a host of other relatives and friends.
