Carolyn Jean Davis was born June 14th, 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Margie Irene (Roberts) and Albert Lee Taylor. She passed away Monday, August 8th, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 25 days. Carolyn grew up in the Sweetwater area. She attended school in Oklahoma and graduated from high school in Sweetwater 1958. After graduation she was married to Melvin Alanson Davis in Weatherford, Oklahoma on December 25th, 1963. After their marriage they remained in Sweetwater, Oklahoma where she was employed by Sweetwater Public Schools for 12 years until 1981. Carolyn continued in the secretarial field for various different organizations until her retirement. Even throughout her working career she helped the Sweetwater First Baptist Church as the Sunday School Secretary. Carolyn also enjoyed reading her Bible, crocheting, being a homemaker and mother. Carolyn was a blessing to everyone in her life whether she had known you for years or just met you. She is preceded in death by her parents and an infant grandson. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Melvin, of the home; 1 son, Terrill Davis and wife, Angela, Sweetwater, OK; 4 grandchildren, Amie McCamley and husband, Roger, Ocala, FL, Mathew Davis and wife, Tory, Tampa, FL, Amanda Carder and husband Chase, Collinsville, OK, Megan Hook, and husband Andrew, Collinsville, OK; 4 great grandchildren, Roger McCamley, III, Liv Carder, Kyler Carder, and Ellison Hook; 2 brothers, Ron Taylor and wife, Pam, Choctaw, OK and Don Taylor and wife, Karen, Star, ID and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15th, 2022 at Sweetwater First Baptist Church at 2:00 P.M. officiated by Ed Wrather and assisted by Chris Carlisle.
