Carol Jo Bartlett was born January 25th, 1945 in El Paso, Texas to Mary Evelyn (Freeman) and Henry Edward Stephenson. She passed away at her home south of Elk City, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 13th, 2022 at the age of 77 years, 6 months and 19 days. Carol moved with her parents from El Paso, Texas to Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She attended and graduated from Pawhuska High School in 1963. Shortly after graduation she was married to John Carl Bartlett on June 3rd, 1963. After their marriage they made their home in Pawhuska and Carol helped her parents in the family owned filling station and convenience store in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. In 1982 they moved to Burns Flat, Oklahoma and later to Elk City where they resided and made their home. Carol worked for K-Mart and also Walmart for many years and even after John's passing she continued to be a dedicated employee. She enjoyed growing gardens every year, shopping and finding good deals, and traveling back home and different places especially Branson, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sister, Evelyn Abernethy. Carol is survived by her 2 sisters, Mary Ann Young, and Connie Stephenson and their families; her companion, Stoney Batey, Elk City, OK; long time friend, Connie Evans, Elk City, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
