Obituary

Chester Lee Glancy III - "Butch", 71 years old, born on June 12th, 1953. He is the son of Vaunceil Cox and Chester Lee Glancy Jr. Butch went to be with his lord and savior on Monday, January 27th 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Growing up, Butch was shaped into the man he is today by the love and guidance of his mother Vaunceil, grandparents Chester Sr, Gladys Glancy Walter, Tomae Kenney also known Butch Kenney "Daddy Butch" he became little Butch.

Butch married his best friend and soul mate, Jeannie on April 17th, 1972. From this union he had two wonderful boys who he was so proud of Chet and Brandon. From them his family grew and he gained a daughter when Brandon married Shae. Butch's grandchildren and great grandchildren brought so much love and joy and was his purpose for living.

Butch spent numerous years working for H&P and later transitioned to Cimarex where he worked his way to becoming a Drilling Field Superintendent. Through his years within the oilfield Butch had a special mentor, Roger Musick, that helped lay the foundation he needed for years to come. Butch retired in June 2016 from Cimarex. Butch enjoyed shooting and buying guns to collect. He was always chasing his grandchildren and great children to all their endeavors, watching softball games, golfing, and mowing the lawn. Butch was always willing to help wherever it was needed. There was no limits to his love or anything in-between. Butch loved his family deeply and enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them no matter what it was they were doing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Chester Glancy Jr. and Vauncil Cox, sisters, Pam and Lauren, and half sister Linda.

Butch is survived by his wife, Jeannie, of the home; 2 children, Chet Glancy of Elk City, OK, Brandon Glancy and wife, Shae of Elk City, OK. 6 grandchildren: Ashton, Korie, Braylen, Brennon, Tinslee, and Blakelee. Great Grandchildren: Brantley, Audrey, Blaire, Memphis, Berkley, Isla, Bennett. Sister; Charolette, Stepsister; Claudia, Kimberly and Stepbrother; Micheal, and a hosts of coworkers, friends, and family.

A special thank you to the Pallbearers that are some of the most incredible friends that Butch has had over his 71 years of life.
